This service is run by our Eye Clinic Liaison Officer, Vanessa Camp. She has a private room in York Hospital Eye Clinic, Waiting area A and is available Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday from 9am to 4.30pm.
The Service is for patients or relatives / carers who are concerned about their own or somebody else’s eyesight.
Vanessa offers both practical and emotional support at what can be a difficult time:
- She provides space to talk about any concerns in confidence.
- She has information about eye conditions and can advise on services and equipment to help overcome difficulties.
- She will signpost or make referrals to other organisations as appropriate.

Macular Disease Support
This local group is for anyone who has Macular Disease and it has nearly 70 members.
It meets every two months, on the second Monday at Rougier House. Speakers are arranged and members of the group take an active part in running it. New members are always welcome.
